Dear IMOW Supporter, With your support, 2011 has been an extraordinary year for the International Museum of Women.  I want to share some of our greatest successes and exciting news about upcoming programs, and to ask for your help. Please consider making a donation now to celebrate the strides we’ve made to advance women’s creativity, self expression and empowerment around the world and – more importantly – to help us increase our reach and impact in 2012. 2011 Highlights -    Engaging 600,000 online visitors. This year, 600,000 women and men from over 200 countries visited our free, always open online exhibitions to be inspired, connect and take action on vital global issues for women. -    Launch of Young Women Speaking the Economy. This dynamic multi-media project that engaged 40 young women from four countries as media makers and visionaries on the topic of the global economy. This online exhibition – praised as ‘groundbreaking’ by the US State Department –  depicts the untold economic stories, dreams and challenges of the world’s young women as they prepare to enter the workforce at a critical moment for the global economy. Our online presentation was paired with in-person events in the Sudan, the Philippines, Denmark and the US. -    Launch of Curating Change, a series of features by guest curators, each selecting her top ten IMOW artistic submissions by focusing on the global women’s issues that matter most to her. Guest curators included: •    Samasource founder Leila Janah on Equality •    Miss Representation director Jennifer Seibel Newsom on Representation •    Documentary and television director Abigail Disney on Women, War and Peace •    Filmmaker, activist and Webby Awards founder Tiffany Shlain on Connectedness •    Nigerian human rights and democracy advocate Hafsat Abiola on Justice -    Launch of the “teaser” exhibition, Your Voices: On Motherhood, a global community-created showcase featuring the creative work of over 600 artists from more than 70 countries. Exciting Developments in 2012 and Beyond MAMA: Motherhood Around the Globe. MAMA is an unprecedented global project, bringing together journalists, artists, thought leaders, filmmakers, and photographers from all over the world. The exhibition will explore the realities and ideas of mothers worldwide through art, stories and powerful new voices. MAMA aims to turn inspiration into action, helping fuel a global movement of advocates for mothers’ human rights and advances in maternal health. Muslim Women’s Art & Voices. Launching in 2013, this timely multimedia exhibition will feature the art, voices and ideas of a new generation of Muslim women.  The exhibition will spotlight new leadership, address myths and prejudices, and foster global dialogue and understanding.
